Description
As a child Janine drew little dolls besides de margin of her notebooks in school. She called these characters Frml's, which means fragment, residue. The Frml's are fragments of her childhood. By making them tangible, she can share this feeling with others. Frml's have the possibility to keep and cherish memories. By adding memories to the Frm'l, the Frm'l becomes more and more part of your life.
This work was created by Janine in 2007/ 2008. The Frml's are made from crochet wool yarn and then felted with merino wool. This Frm'l has little beads of glass and labradorite sewn on it. Measurements: 171 cm long.
The Frml's are ready made for you to enjoy them and let them cherish your memories. Frml's are no toys.

Artist: Janine Berben
Janine's work is inspired by character design (Pictoplasma!), childhood, memories and nature. She mainly works with crochet wool, felt, porcelain and ceramics.
Janine graduated the school for goldsmith in 2003. In 2007 she graduated at the Academy of Visual Arts in Maastricht. Janine is working as a jewelrydesigner since 2007. Since September 2008 Janine is goldsmith teacher at the Volksuniversiteit Maasland in Geleen. She had several expositions in the Netherlands and abroad, like Talente 2008 and Project Echolot for Ludwich Forum Aachen.
