Beautiful design from the land of Zachte G
Artisjok aspires to integrate the Cradle-to-Cradle concept into the daily life of its user in a way that simplifies the philosophy. The products are developed in such a way that the user can make a choice when discarding it, whether to compost the piece of furniture and so enter the object into the Food for Nature cycle or to return it for recycling so entering it into the Food for New Products circle. Our aim is to stimulate a growing economy, a healthy industry and flourishing environment. The fascination and passion for the Cradle-to-Cradle philosophy was given substance and form, resulting in the development of a line of design objects called the “Misfit” line.An important fundament behind their design is the theme Modern Craftwork which incorporates topics such as Crafts, Simplicity of Design and Back to Basics. Artisjoks pilot product is a table made of one material (polyetheen). The table is produced by rotation moulding without extra assembly elements and can be regranulated as a whole back to its elementary material. The Misfit table was produced by Artisjok in 2009. The table is made of polyetheen.Measurements: 140 x 50 x 35 cm. The Misfit table is ready made to be part of your interior.

The artists that are part of Artisjok graduated at the ABK Maastricht HBO Bachelor: Fine Arts and Design in Education and the Cambridge exam Entrepreneurship. Two of them graduated Arts and Culture at the University of Maastricht, one of them graduated history of art at the university of Amsterdam.
In 2006 nine students from the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Education in Maastricht, through a program organised by Young Enterprises, initiated the Student Company “Artisjok”. From the start, the members knew that they didn’t want to make an average product but rather wanted to make something that would have impact. The company Artisjok’s roots lie in the Cradle-to-Cradle Philosophy.
Having embraced the philosophy, the young designer group realised the significance of this all-encompassing approach towards design and manufacture and so took the life cycle theory of “waste equals food” as its core philosophy.
